Monterey Bay Master Gardeners is a non-profit 501(c)(3) program supporting the work of the UC Master Gardener program.
Rancho Cielo is a comprehensive learning and social services center for underserved youth in Monterey County. Residing on 100 acres and encompassing two lakes, stables and a cultivated garden, Rancho Cielo is also a restored piece of Salinas Valley natural history.
Bringing together public agencies, community-based organizations and concerned citizens, Rancho Cielo aims to design and implement a comprehensive set of services and programs in support of their vision of transforming the lives of at-risk youth and empower them to become accountable, competent, productive and responsible citizens.
UC Master Gardeners of Monterey & Santa Cruz Counties have worked to develop a Leadership Garden with students. Produce from the garden now supplies the on-site restaurant at Rancho Cielo. Take a moment to watch the video of this project in action.
UC Master Gardeners of Monterey & Santa Cruz Counties have been affiliated with the Monterey Museum of Art's historic La Mirada property for many years. Maintaining the rose garden, established more than 60 years ago, has been a focus of Master Gardener volunteers. La Mirada is located 720 Via Mirada, Monterey, CA. The gardens are open to the public when the museum is open. Master Gardener volunteers are at the La Mirada property on Thursdays from 10:00 - 12:00, excluding holidays. All are welcome!
